Become a Teacher or Volunteer with LHRC

Join the Legacy Homeschool Resource Center community! We welcome passionate and gifted individuals to get involved as teachers, tutors, and volunteers.

We want to nurture the spirit of learning by extending an invitation for you to lead a class on a subject that ignites your passion. The topic is open to a wide range of possibilities, allowing for creativity and personal interest to guide your choice.

Requirements to Teach:

Teachers and Tutors are required to demonstrate unwavering dedication by attending each scheduled class and making every effort to avoid cancellations, except in cases of exceptional circumstances. Should a cancellation be necessary, teachers are responsible for arranging a makeup session or securing a substitute. These obligations are formalized in a Teacher Contract, which outlines these expectations clearly.

Before joining our team, each prospective teacher is required to complete a comprehensive Staff and Teacher Application and undergo a background check, with a nominal fee charged to cover this process. These applications are meticulously assessed by the relevant department head, who also contacts and verifies the references provided. Subsequently, the applicant proceeds to an in-person interview conducted by the department head and another staff member. Upon acceptance, the individual must undertake the MinistrySafe Awareness Training Course as part of the onboarding process.

Good communication is key to a successful team. Teachers are expected to attend a mandatory meeting prior to the start of each term.

How to Apply:

Fill out the form below to let us know you are interested in teaching, tutoring or volunteering with Legacy Homeschool Resource Center.

Once we receive your interest form, we will email you a link to the full teacher application.  This application includes an abuse prevention survey, code of conduct, reference form, statement of faith, contract form and a background check.

(Teacher Application and Formal Interview is required one time only. The Legacy Homeschool Resource Center reserves the right to deny any application.)

We will review applications, contact references and schedule an in-person interview.

All teachers must complete a 1.5 hour video course and pass the follow up quiz.

Please fill out a class application for each course you wish to teach. You are welcome to submit these applications concurrently with your interview process, provided that we are still accepting applications at the time of submission.

Family Discipleship Comes First

At the heart of Legacy Homeschool Resource Center lies our commitment to family discipleship, rooted in the biblical family model where parents are the primary educators (Deuteronomy 6:7), guiding their children in the path of faith and knowledge. At LHRC, families will encounter the love of Christ through a holistic approach encompassing academic programs, artistic expression, physical fitness, exploration of creation, unwavering support, fervent prayer, a tight-knit community, and a wealth of educational resources.

Who We Are:

Legacy Homeschool Resource Center is a place where homeschool families can find a supportive community to join them in educating and discipling the next generation of Christ-followers.

Catch the Vision:

Modeled after Jay and Heidi St. John’s successful organization, Firmly Planted HRC, our dream is to plant a center right here in the heart of Middle Tennessee.

What We Do:

LHRC exists to equip and connect homeschooling families. From classes, to counseling, to coffeeshop talks, we intend to empower families at every stage of homeschooling.

Partner With Us:

Our partners are passionate about seeing children excel in their God-given talents and empowering families who choose homeschooling. Legacy HRC is a registered 501c3 nonprofit organization, and all donations are tax deductible.

Why Choose Legacy?

We are so much more than a location for classes, we are a community. We desire to see every parent supported and every student flourishing.
