FAQS

When is volleyball season?

Volleyball is a fall sport. Our season runs from July (practices begin) to October (TSIAA Championships).

What is the team practice schedule?

Practices will be held 3 times per week. Specific days and times will be finalized after the team roster is set. Practice attendance is required, and missed practices may affect playing time.

How many games will teams play each season?

Teams will typically play 12-14 games each season, with 1 pre-season tournament.

Who do teams play against? Are you part of a sports conference?

Legacy Lions participates in the TSIAA conference. Teams compete mainly against private Christian schools and similar homeschool athletic programs in Middle Tennessee.

Can parents watch regular practices?

No. Practices are closed to the public. Only players and coaching staff are permitted in the gym during practice times.

What fees are involved in being part of the team?

Fees vary by season. We work hard to keep costs as low as possible, but athletic programs include expenses beyond uniforms and equipment. Once your athlete makes the team, families will receive full cost details from the coaching staff. We also offer fundraising opportunities to help reduce fees, and we never want cost to keep a family from participating.

Do parents need to help or volunteer?

Yes. Each family is expected to complete volunteer hours during the season. Sign-ups will take place at parent orientation before the season begins, and opportunities may include concessions, admissions, scorekeeping, setup, cleanup, and other game-day needs.

In some cases, a volunteer buyout fee may be available to families who are unable to serve, allowing another parent to fill that role. Parent volunteers are a very important part of Legacy Athletics. Our program depends on families working together, and this support helps us keep your fees lower while also making game days run well for everyone. Our coaches are volunteers and give countless hours to serve and invest in our athletes, and parent participation is one of the ways families help make that possible.
