Student learning opportunities change every semester at Legacy Homeschool Resource Center. We partner with teachers, professionals, and even parents who are passionate about various subjects to bring rich learning experiences to students.

Elementary Choir
(K-3rd Grade)- 1st Period
Description: Cultivate a love for music through a vibrant music ensemble for ages 6-10! Young singers will start their journey in vocal skills, musicality and performance abilities. Students will grow in their sight-reading and ear training skills, breath control and their ability to learn and perform as a team. A variety of repertoire will be rehearsed throughout the semester, with a performance in the community at the end to showcase all of their hard work.
- Cost: $150, plus $65 administration fee, plus $25 supply fee
- Class size: 7-15 students

Upper Elementary Art Classes
4th – 6th Grade – 3rd Period
Description: This class offers students the opportunity to refine their artistic skills and explore advanced techniques in various mediums. Students will work on developing their own artistic voice while learning how to create meaningful, expressive pieces. Ideal for those looking to take their art to the next level!
- Cost: $150, $65 plus administration fee, plus $25 supply fee
- Class size: 5-15 students

STEM Lab

Description: We will explore science themes in this hands-on enrichment course. We will build, learn, work together, and explore to learn more about STEM topics.

Math Explorers
4th – 5th Grade – 1st Period
Description: Math Explorers: Upper Elementary Math (1 hour) Math Explorers is an engaging math class designed specifically for upper elementary students. This class is tailored to foster academic success by building a solid foundation in key math concepts. Math Explorers inspires curiosity and confidence while equipping students with the skills necessary for continued academic achievement in math.

Math Mastery
6th – 8th Grade – 2nd Period
Description: Math Mastery: Middle School Math
Math Mastery is an interactive middle school math class designed to deepen understanding of core mathematical concepts while fostering critical thinking and collaborative problem-solving. This dynamic and supportive course encourages students to excel in algebra, geometry, and data analysis as they build a robust foundation for future math studies.

Speech Communication & Leadership Development
7th – 12th Grade – 3rd Period
Description: Speech Communications with Leadership Development:
This fun and interactive course equips students with essential public speaking and lifelong leadership skills to help them communicate with confidence. Students will develop their ability to organize speeches, engage audiences, and overcome speech anxiety in daily interactions through engaging activities and real-world applications. They will also learn to improve body language and think on their feet. Whether presenting to an audience, leading a group, or participating in everyday conversations, this class will prepare students for success in both professional and social settings.
High school students will complete assignments that meet Tennessee state credit requirements for Speech and Public Speaking. Middle school students will work on grade-appropriate assignments while all students actively participate in class discussions, leadership development, and speech delivery to strengthen their communication skills.

Fun Fit Friends
K – 3rd Grade – 4th Period
Description: FunFit Friends: Physical Fitness through Team Building
Welcome to FunFit Friends! This once-a-week homeschool class is designed especially for lower elementary students to enjoy an exciting blend of physical fitness and team-building games. Our engaging sessions promote healthy movement, collaboration, and fun while encouraging children to build friendships, develop communication skills, and boost their self-confidence. Join us for a dynamic experience where fitness meets teamwork in a playful and supportive environment!

Middle TN Vocal Association Prep
4th – 12th Grade – 1st Period
Description: Preparatory course for participation in auditioned and non-auditioned vocal music events provided by MTVA for the 2025-2026 school year. Events include but are not limited to:
- Elementary Mass Choir
- Middle School Mass Choir
- Elementary Honor Choir
- Middle School Honor Choir
- Mid-State/All-State and Freshman Honor Choirs
- Solo & Ensemble Festival
- Cost: $150, plus $65 administration fee – Additional participation fees required for each MTVA event.

General Music
4th – 6th Grade – 2nd Period
Description: General Music (Standard) courses provide students with an understanding of music and its importance in their lives. Course content focuses on how various styles of music apply musical elements to create an expressive or aesthetic impact. Students also have the ability for informal music performance and creation within the classroom. Instruction may include music theory, music history, and other studies in music.

General Music Honors
7th – 12th Grade – 3rd Period
Description: General Music (Honors) courses provide students with an understanding of the fundamentals of music, context in a selected range of historical periods and/or cultural styles, and include the following topics: composition, arranging, analysis, aural development, and sight reading. Students also have the ability for informal music performance and creation within the classroom. There are no set standards for General Music (Honors); however, courses may draw from the established standards for general music, music theory, instrumental music, and vocal music.

Legacy Chorale
9th – 12th Grade – 4th Period
Goal: To develop proficient and independent musicians – includes strengthening sight-singing skills (perform a melodic line at sight, accurately and without preparation) Ensemble Goals: To strengthen the ability of each unique voice to blend in to an ensemble setting through vocal balance, tone quality, intonation and style. To provide a place where the contributions of each unique artist are equally important. Our voices will combine to create one of a kind experiences shared through an education in vocal music performance. Sheet music necessary for practice and performances (Fall, Winter & Spring Concerts plus additional community and fundraising events.)
- Cost: $180, plus $65 administrative fee

Description: Spanish 1 is an introductory course for high school students beginning to learn Spanish. This class focuses on basic communication skills, including listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Students will build vocabulary, learn simple sentence structures, and practice everyday conversations. Cultural aspects of Spanish-speaking countries will also be explored.

Upper Elementary Spanish
4th – 7th Grade – 2nd Period
Description: This Spanish class helps students build foundational language skills through fun and interactive activities. Students will learn pronunciation of Spanish words, commonly used vocabulary, and how to form simple sentences for basic conversations. They will practice greetings, meeting others, and describing things, animals, themselves, and others in Spanish. Topics will also include numbers, colors, family, school, and daily activities. Through games, role-playing, and cultural exploration, students will develop confidence in listening, speaking, reading, and writing in Spanish.

Description: This beginner Spanish class introduces young learners to the Spanish language through fun and engaging activities. Description: We will be learning Bible stories, parables, and characters of the Bible. There will be games, hands on creative activities and lots of lego building. There will be builds that coordinate with each lesson. Some builds will be individual and some will be in teams. We will also learn the books of the Bible through builds we will do. We will also have some free building time too! Each Child will need to donate a gallon baggie Legos of any type of Legos.

Movies as Literature
5th – 8th Grade – 4th Period
Description: This course is sure to be an exciting one as you explore classic literature by reading but also examine movies that have been made based on the books. We will be comparing and contrasting the books and movies. There will be plenty of discussion on the books and the movies. Essay writing, research assignments, book reports, film critiques and hands-on creative projects. Book List will be compiled soon, for example we would read the Story of the Von Trapp Family and watch the Sound of Music.

Home Economics
7th-12th Grade – 5th Period
Description: This course is for middle and high school girls. This course focuses on developing skills to perform tasks such as cleaning, cooking, sewing, childcare, organization, budgeting, job interviewing, nutrition, meal planning, beauty, self care and running a household while growing character qualities. It focuses on preparing a young lady in these areas from a Christ-centered view. Required text: Home Economics Household Skills: Becoming a Daughter of Purpose

Personal Finance

Description: This class will satisfy the .5 credit requirement for High Schoolers. Learn more about how to manage and glorify God with your time, gifts, and talents including financial resources. Required text: Dave Ramsey Foundations in Personal Finance Workbook and Digital Access.

Algebra I

Description: In this course, we will be working through the award nominated book, “Salt, Fat Acid, and Heat”. This book is full of magical information about flavor profile analysis, ingredients and their geographical origins, advanced cooking methods, and so much more. Each student will be equipped with their very own chopping knife, which they will be in charge of maintaining. Please make me aware of any and all food-based allergies, as well as any serious dietary restrictions that may apply as students will be encouraged to taste the dishes they create. I’m so excited to get started!

Description: In this 15-week course, students will develop essential digital skills that will help them communicate effectively, stay organized, and create professional content for school and beyond. We’ll focus on foundational tools and platforms that are key to navigating today’s tech-driven world. Key areas of focus include:
- Typing Skills
- Professional Email Setup & Communication
- Introduction to Google Suite
- Basic Graphic Design with Canva
- Building a Resume
- Social Media Basics
By the end of this course, students will have a strong foundation in these key digital skills and will leave with a polished resume, improved typing skills, and the confidence to communicate professionally in a digital world. *laptop, gmail account, and access to Google Suite required

Homestead Science
7th – 12th Grade – 4th Period
Students will learn about real-life activities that are associated with modern homesteading. Through the text, budgeting, research, videos, and projects, students will have a better understanding of what it takes to pursue self-sufficiency.
Additionally, in any situation where a person is working with the land, animals, and their neighbors, quality of character is an integral component of life. Students will be given the opportunity to reflect on the character traits that are positively viewed within communities. Topics Covered: Building & Land, Tractors & Small Engines, Poultry, Companion & Predator Animals, Dairy & Fiber Animals, Meat Animals, Compost & Soil, Insects, bees, & bugs, Gardens, Orchards & Vineyards, Grains & Forage Crops, Food Preservation, Home Cooking, Off-Grid Life, Hunting, Fishing, & Trapping, Foraging & Herbs, First-Aid, Homestead Accounting **This class will need to be taken both semesters to satisfy a full science credit requirement for high school.

Auto Upkeep
7th – 12th Grade – 5th Period
Description: Auto Upkeep provides students with fundamental, helpful information about owning and maintaining an automobile, buying a car, and performing basic maintenance and repair. Auto Upkeep is perfect for the new or soon-to-be driver. Students will discover how to calculate auto expenses, navigate a repair facility, use common automotive tools, and learn about the various systems in the car, including ignition, lubrication, fuel, braking, drivetrain, and more. We will also visit the Nissan North America manufacturing plant in Smyrna to see how a vehicle is built.

Anatomy and Physiology
High School – 5th Period
Description: Dive into the amazing discoveries of how God designed our bodies in Master Books’ Introduction to Anatomy & Physiology Volume 1. This Christian homeschool science curriculum for high school students explores the musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, respiratory, and nervous systems. Beautiful full-color images fill the student text, Wonders of the Human Body Volume 1, bringing these systems to life for the student. The Teacher Guide offers worksheets, quizzes, and tests to help your students solidify their knowledge of the human body created by the one and only Master Designer. Designed for grades 9 to 12, this one-year course is equivalent to 1 science credit. Lessons are scheduled 30-45 minutes a day, 5 days a week.

Geometry Support and Enrichment
High School – 5th Period
Each meeting we will go over the lessons for the week in a small-group tutoring-style setting. Students will practice at home every day. Most tests will be proctored by a parent and completed at home. My objective for this class is to develop an understanding of geometric concepts, like points, angles, shapes, and their properties, enabling students to identify, analyze, and apply those concepts to solve problems.
