Christmas Around the World Workshop

Date: Tuesday, November 11, 2025
Time: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Cost: $25 per student ($20 Legacy Member Discount)
Grades: 3rd–4th Grade

Description: Pack your (imaginary) passport and join us for a festive journey around the globe as we explore how different cultures celebrate the Christmas season!

In this interactive class, students will learn about a variety of Christmas traditions from countries around the world. We’ll explore unique foods, decorations, religious customs, ornaments, music, and more. Through hands-on activities and engaging discussion, your child will gain a greater appreciation for how others celebrate this special holiday.

Kinder ready circle time

KindeReady Circle Time

Dates: Tuesday, November 11th
Time: 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM
Cost: $25 per student ($20 Legacy Member Discount)
Ages: 3 – 6 years old
Registration Deadline:  Registration open until class time starts.

Description: In this class, students will work with Mrs. Ashley to improve their foundation in reading and social skills for 45-60 minutes. We will read books, sing songs, dance together, and play learning games as a group. Lessons will focus on teaching letters, learning sight words, sounding out CVC words, and working together with peers. Teaching will include engaging learning games and activities that allow students to practice skills while having fun.

Mythical Creature Sculptures: Sculpt Your Own Creature

Dates: Tuesday, November 11th
Time: 10 am – 1pm
Cost: $55 per student ($50 Legacy Member Discount)
Grades: 5th Grade and up
Registration Deadline:  October 31st

Description: Step into the world of dragons, unicorns, sea serpents, and creatures from your wildest dreams! In this exciting hands-on workshop, kids will learn how to sculpt their very own mythical creature using clay and mixed media. From designing wings and tails to adding scales and color, everyone leaves with a magical beast to take home.

Learning Goals:

  • Learn basic creature anatomy and how to shape forms with clay
  • Understand how to create armatures (if used)
  • Explore creativity through design and storytelling
  • Develop patience and fine motor skills while sculpting and decorating

Class Breakdown:


Hour 1 – Imagine & Begin Building
Intro & Inspiration (15 mins): Quick slideshow or show-and-tell of mythical creatures from around the world (dragons, griffins, phoenixes, etc.)

Sketch & Plan (15 mins): Kids quickly sketch or describe their own creature idea (name, powers, home)

Start Sculpting (30 mins): Begin shaping body and head using air-dry or polymer clay

Hour 2 – Add Details
Wings, Horns, Tails, Claws (30 mins): Sculpt and attach creature parts

Texture Time (30 mins): Use simple tools (toothpicks, forks, etc.) to add scales, fur, feathers

Hour 3 – Paint & Showcase
Dry Time/Break (10 mins): Let pieces dry slightly while kids stretch/snack

Paint & Decorate (40 mins): Use acrylic paints; optional glitter, gems, googly eyes, or glow-in-the-dark touches

Show & Tell (10 mins): Kids introduce their creature and share its name, backstory, and powers.

Bonus Add-Ons (if time allows):
“Creature Passports”: Mini paper cards where kids write the creature’s name, habitat, and magical ability

Please make sure students wear clothes they can get dirty.

Small Group Speech Therapy

Tuesdays – at 10 am

Description: Katie is excited to offer small group speech therapy services to Legacy HRC families. She has almost 10 years of experience providing speech therapy to children of all ages.

Speech therapy could be beneficial if your child is having any difficulty with communication, including speech sounds or speech intelligibility, understanding spoken or written language, producing correct grammar or vocabulary, alternative and augmentative communication such as gestures or speech devices, and social communication such as conversational skills.

  • Cost: $277.50, plus $65 administration fee
  • Class size: 3 -8 students
  • Classes meet on Tuesdays at 10:00 am
