Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a Legacy HRC membership to register for classes?
Yes. Families must have a current Legacy HRC membership before registering for classes. Membership helps support the overall operations of Legacy and gives families access to all of our programs and opportunities throughout the year.
When do classes meet?
Legacy HRC classes meet on Wednesdays from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM during the school year. Class times vary, so families can build a schedule that fits their students’ needs.
What fees are required in addition to membership?
In addition to the Legacy HRC membership fee, families will pay a $200 security fee to help provide an armed, certified security guard on campus during class times. The security fee is due in full at the time of registration.
What is the cost for classes?
On average classes are $10 per class. We meet 30 times per year (15 times per semester) and the average tuition for one class is around $300 annually.
Each class also includes a $5 per class ($150 annual) administrative fee. Some classes may also have an additional supply or copy fee, which will vary by class. Hands-on classes such as art and culinary often have higher supply fees.
At registration, the class tuition, administrative fee, and any applicable supply or copy fees are combined, and you will see the total class cost.
Is Legacy HRC a drop-off program?
Yes. Legacy HRC is a drop-off program. However, parent involvement is still an important part of our community and helps us keep our programs running smoothly and affordably.
Each enrolled family is required to serve one full-day volunteer shift (6 hours) or two half-day shifts (3 hours each) each semester. Volunteer roles may include check-in/check-out, supervision, classroom help, setup and cleanup, hot lunch coordination, and event support. A volunteer buyout option is not available.
What payment options are available for classes?
Families may pay class fees in full through our online registration platform using a credit card or e-check. We also offer a 10-month payment plan for those who prefer to make payments over time.
Families using the payment plan must turn in their post-dated checks by April 29, 2026 in order to secure class enrollment for the 2026–2027 school year.
Do you offer a study hall?
Although we do not offer a formal study hall, we do provide a supervised space for students to remain on campus between classes. This is typically available for students ages 8 and older who can work independently and quietly.
Families must request this by email and include the students’ ages and the period(s) needed. Approval is granted on an individual basis. Students must remain respectful and self-directed while in study hall. If a student is disruptive or unable to manage their time appropriately, study hall privileges may be removed or parent supervision may be required. Email requests to jennifer@legacyhrc.org.
Can I change my student’s class schedule after registration?
We strongly encourage families to carefully review their student’s schedule and class selections before submitting registration. Once registration is complete, your student is committed to those classes for the 2026–2027 school year.
To help us protect class placement and planning for teachers and families, schedule changes and class drops will not be permitted after April 29, 2026.
What if my student needs to withdraw from classes?
If you need to withdraw your student from Legacy HRC, please notify a member of our team in writing.
When a student registers, that seat is reserved specifically for them. Those funds are used to pay tutors, purchase supplies, and make plans based on class enrollment. In some cases, other families may have been placed on a waitlist or may be unable to enroll once a class is filled.
For that reason, administrative fees and class, event, and sports fees are non-refundable and are not prorated in the event of early withdrawal.
