Turnip Green Creative Reuse diverts usable material from our landfill for creative endeavors. Each day, we take in an average of 1000 pounds of donated hard-to-recycle materials and redistribute them back to community members through a shopping center and education programming.
Our hours are Tuesday–Sunday, 10:00 am–4:30 pm.
Learn more about what Turnip Green does by coming to our space! Field Trips to Turnip Green include a group tour of our Creative Reuse Center, Artist Marketplace & Gallery, and Open Studio. After the tour, find materials from our shop and learn more about our mission of fostering creativity and sustainability through reuse by picking out materials from our shop to use for your creative reuse project lead by our staff.
When you assist with a reuse center shift you will be in the center of it all, guided by our awesome Reuse Specialists in a variety of processing tasks. From rolling and detangling materials, to creating fun paper scrap packs, stocking our shelves, or processing beads and other donations, you’ll be helping us give new life to these materials by keeping them out of the landfill! Have a special skill, or interested in helping with building or other special projects? Let us know!
Volunteers are invited to serve from home by helping sort, process and package materials! While this is an at home position, this task does require pick-up and drop off of take-home kits to and from Turnip Green.
