A good reference book for families, Astronomy and the Bible gives simple, sensible answers to basic astronomy questions from the viewpoint of a literal Bible interpretation. Many times definite answers cannot be given, so various proposed theories are presented. There are about 170 pages, packed full with information, plus a glossary and a list of other suggested resources for further study. It is divided into six main sections: the earth and moon, the solar system, the stars, galaxies and the universe, general science, and technical terms and ideas. I appreciate the fact DeYoung has included an index so that we can quickly locate specific topics. This is quite a thought provoking book, appropriate for ages ten and up, but especially good for high school level.

In addition to founding Living Books Curriculum, the Carroll’s created Worldwide Educational Resources, a non-profit program designed to provide developing nations with the same high-quality educational materials and proven teaching methods homeschooling families enjoy. Earth Experience is the first natural history museum in middle Tennessee —
we exhibit archeological relics from as far away as Antarctica and Madagascar and as close as right outside our own front door. In addition to rocks, fossils, gems, minerals, dinosaur bones and unique archeological relics from around the world, you’ll see particular samples from our own state of Tennessee.
This is not a typical natural history museum! Earth Experience offers an interactive, dynamic experience for visitors — you’ll see ongoing research and activities, and you’ll view relics and exhibits that reflect the ground you walk on and the environment where you live. When you leave, you’ll have a greater understanding and appreciation of the natural history of Tennessee, parts of the United States and the greater world, from the beginning of time through today.
》You’ll see a working paleontology laboratory where real dinosaur bones are cleaned and repaired.
》You’ll see a molding and casting operation creating dinosaur displays and souvenirs for sale in the gift shop.
》You’ll touch dinosaur bones, petrified wood, rocks and minerals.
》You’ll see the dinosaur finds we uncover every summer through our active dig program in Montana.
》You’ll meet Frank, our 38-foot-long T. Rex skeleton!

Our series curricula are designed to support kids in developing 8 critical skills, and each series highlights one as the “focus skill” through a 10-week learning plan. Each lesson is designed to facilitate play & learning for an entire week. Lessons begin with a 10 to 15 minute video that includes songs, rituals and an “invitation” designed to inspire kids to get outside and play. After the initial lesson, reference your Lesson page for printable resources, activities and more to keep the play going all week long!
Each lesson uses materials families typically have on hand or can find in any simple greenspace. Some examples include bowls, water, string or dirt. We provide alternatives, too, just in case a particular everyday material is hard to find when you need it. Once you subscribe, you’ll be able find a list of suggested items you’ll use with each lesson in your Tinkergarten dashboard.
