Legacy Homeschool Resource Center is proud to partner with Main Event in Murfreesboro to offer a hands-on STEM Co-Op!

Come join us for a one-of-a-kind STEM Co-op with our local Main Event! Twice a month, meetings will take place at the Main Event, located in Gresham Park. Kids will receive 30-45 minutes of instruction with hands-on labs, followed by two hours of free play, two slices of pizza, and soda!

The classes that occur in between Main Event meetings will be held at a local church where students will review what was taught the previous week with another hands-on mini-lab and then will be taught a new concept that will coincide with the next week’s lesson. The goal here is to emphasize and reiterate main concepts, which include hands-on manipulatives, which is proven to increase the retention of
new concepts and material.

Some examples of material that will be covered in classes include, but aren’t limited to:

• August: Rolling into the Principles of the Scientific Method
• September: Stepping up your game with Scientific Principles
• October: Blasting myths with reflection and refraction!
• November: Percentages are as easy as pie!

STEM Co-Op Details:

• STEM Co-Op will meet on Wednesdays from August to November. 16 weekly meetings in total.  Meetings at the church will last one (1) hour, while meetings at the venue will last two and a half (2.5) hours.
• Three groups of 30 students each will rotate through stations with similar age peers (K-2, 3-5, 6+)
• Main Event does require parents to stay onsite during the co-op.

STEM Co-Op Pricing:

The following fees apply for the LHRC STEM Co-Op:

• $50 Enrollment fee per student (due at time of registration and nonrefundable)
• Full 16-week program is $320 per child (program fees will begin on 8/1/24)
